Performance Testing

Roof Anchors

Roof Safety Anchors are an integral part of the fall-arrest system required for window washing and other work on the exterior of buildings. It is the responsibility of the owner to ensure that there are an adequate number of anchors and that they are fit for use. Davroc can help building owners meet their responsibilities in this regard. With many years experience in roof anchor design and testing, we can provide a full range of services relating to any roof anchor requirements.

Guards / Railings

The latest version of the Building Code requires that all new railing systems satisfy minimum loading and deflection requirements for both pushing and pulling against the top guardrail. There are specific standards on how to apply, distribute and incrementally increase these loads. For many years, Davroc has been testing railing systems for contractors, manufacturers and building owners, both in the field and at our laboratory. If required, Davroc can test your entire railing assembly or individual components.

Window Air Leakage & Water Penetration Testing

Standard ASTM Air Leakage & Water Penetration tests are conducted on window and glazing systems to determine compliance with the performance levels prescribed by applicable Building Codes.

Infrared Thermographic Surveys

The purpose of an infrared survey would be to obtain thermal images that indicate potential problem areas in the exterior envelope construction of the building. The infrared survey would also assist in the selection of areas for further exploration. An infrared thermal survey of the building envelope would record images of the building in the thermal spectrum, and with knowledgeable interpretation offered by Davroc, any thermal abnormalities would be identified. The information obtained would prove useful in identifying potential problem areas in exterior wall and roof assemblies, potentially related to air leakage, wet or missing insulation and/or other defects.

Indoor Air Quality Assessment

Davroc can provide services to investigate and evaluate indoor air quality. Poor air quality can impact on the comfort and health of building occupants. Services can include: risk assessments to identify indoor air contaminants, measurements and sampling of air contaminants, HVAC evaluations, testing for mould and other contaminants, and development of air quality improvement programs.
